Thank you for your ongoing interest in the proposed Cabela’s Wheat Ridge development. On April 25, 2006 Cabela’s hosted an Open House as part of the City of Wheat Ridge’s required zoning process. Then on June 15, 2006 Cabela’s presented its zoning application to the Wheat Ridge City Council for the initial review. Cabela’s initiated the City of Wheat Ridge’s zoning process in the spring of 2005. However, it delayed this effort to allow for sufficient time to study traffic issues. Since then, major progress has been made in the evaluation of possible traffic solutions. Please Note: The Environmental Assessment (EA), which is now the primary effort designed to identify possible traffic improvements, is a separate process from zoning. While the publication of the EA is scheduled for late summer or early fall 2006, it is now time for Cabela’s to conclude the planning and zoning process. The final step in this process is for the City Council to formally review the zoning application presented by Cabela’s. The Council will be accepting public comments at the hearing and is expected to vote at the end of the evening.
